Substitution and modernization of two ETD post-trading applications
Modern solutions for ETDs
We comprehensively modernized ETD matching and position management for a major German bank. This included the complete integration of all connected trading venues and brokers, as well as internal delivery and recipient systems.
Objective
The aim of the project was to replace two outdated legacy systems, including their processes in the area of ETD clearing and post-trading, with a modern, integrated solution.
Challenges
The particular complexity of the project lay in correctly configuring the new software to process external data suppliers (brokers) for matching. Special focus was also placed on the internal data supply of the HOST systems, the implementation of which required close coordination with the software vendor.
Key success factors were continuous collaboration with the vendor, a deep understanding of data delivery routes and transformations, and close cooperation between cluster and OPS departments during joint testing.

Unser Team analysierte gemeinsam mit den Cluster- und Operations-Fachbereichen die vollständigen Datenlieferstrecken und die darin enthaltenen Transformationen. Dadurch entstand ein druchgängiges Verständnis dafür, wie externe Handelsdaten in die neue Lösung gelangen, dort verarbeitet und anschließend an die internen Systeme weitergegeben werden.
Auf dieser Grundlage strukturierte unser Team die fachliche Abnahme und entwickelte ein konsistentes Testvorgehen über die relevanten Datenquellen, Matching-Prozesse und Empfängersysteme hinweg. Abweichungen konnten dadurch gezielt eingegrenzt, nachvollziehbar dokumentiert und gemeinsam mit den Fachbereichen bearbeitet werden. Die kontinuierliche Abstimmung stellte sicher, dass sowohl die neue Funktionalität als auch die bestehenden Lieferstrecken in die Gesamtbetrachtung einbezogen wurden.
Outlook
Through this project, we worked with our client to lay the technical foundation for future developments by implementing a new application. In addition, we streamlined processes, increased the level of automation, and improved the application’s maintainability.
The successful integration of the new system and the experience gained with the new process landscape enabled us to expand the team’s skills in a sustainable manner.
