The requirements for a software system are constantly changing. This can be observed already during the development of the system when the customer´s actual requirements and needs are determined and adjusted.
Similarly, new technology can change the business model and open up unexpected perspectives. Oftentimes, the implementation of those important changes proves to be too expensive and becomes uneconomical. Therefore, a system must become more flexible and easier to maintain. Good software is characterized by its usability, supportability and its ease to make modifications efficiently.
At Firstwaters, our IT consultants have many years of experience working in software architecture in the Java EE environment. We use modern and flexible technologies to determine, develop and deploy the software architecture that has the right fit for you.
A German private Bank has authorized Firstwaters with the rearrangement of their IT information structure. The goal was to align the IT systems and processes with already known and future regulatory requirements and to secure their completion. Together with the responsible partners of the Bank our consulting team has performed as a first step a gap analysis on the base of the existing information structure in order to identify the necessary activities. The recommended measures were agreed and decided with the management of the bank. Subsequently and under the project lead of Firstwaters the detailed implementation of the defined measures was performed by our IT consultants.
A large German Bank has authorized Firstwaters to do a preliminary study regarding a possible platform change for trading and settlement in the Treasury. In conjunction with this a project approach and the corresponding efforts for the implementation of a general FX capability of the bank should be explored. The standard software packages Calypso, Murex, Summit, the disassembling of the existing solution based on Kondor+ or a change to a central processing platform came into consideration for the selection for the group. The result of the preliminary study was the board decision to change to the processing platform of the group. Subsequently Firstwaters was instructed with the setup and the lead of the overall project.
