Release upgrade of a Securities Settlement System
firstwaters supports a large German bank in the complete realignment of its IT infrastructure for securities processing.
In addition to the introduction of the standard software GEOS as the central application for securities processing, the desired goal is to replace the historically grown, monolithic IT infrastructure with an innovative and modular IT landscape. firstwaters is one of the bank's strategic partners and supports the project, among other things, by providing experienced business analysts and IT architects. Together with the bank's internal architects, they define the concepts and guidelines for the functional and technical architecture of the future solution.
Among other things, firstwaters has assumed responsibility for the content of corporate actions. In addition to the functionalities contained in GEOS, TLM (Vendor Smartstream), another standard software, will be used for the processing of corporate actions. In addition, firstwaters is responsible for output management and reporting in the project.
Successful introduction of Calypso V17 for securities trading.
A major German bank decided to process the securities business of a foreign branch using the standard software Calypso. For this purpose, a new proprietary instance of the software, Calypso v17, was introduced. As a selected partner, firstwaters successfully supported this project with a team of consultants. Parallel to the business analysis and requirements management, firstwaters took over the complete technical implementation of the project with an experienced IT team. As a consequence, the project was successfully completed in scope, time and budget.
Implementation of BO solutions across all asset classes.
In recent years, firstwaters has introduced and further developed system solutions for the settlement of OTC and exchange-traded transactions for a large number of customers. In this area, we have developed into a leading consulting firm over the past few years.
In addition to the secure and efficient processing of transactions, the focus is always on compliance with the growing regulatory requirements. Independent of concrete system solutions, we have built up excellent expertise in processing through our project work, which we use to the advantage of our customers.
We are currently supporting a major German bank in modernizing the processing of its securities settlement business. In the course of expanding the use of the Calypso system, we are also currently supporting a German Landesbank in the BO migration of money market and foreign exchange transactions (FX, MM and FXO) to Calypso.
